By purchasing a ticket to Guild Con 2025 or accessing this website, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our website or attend our event.

2. Event Registration & Tickets

2.1 Ticket Purchase

  • All ticket sales are final and non-refundable unless the event is cancelled
  • Tickets are non-transferable without prior written consent from the organizers
  • Guild Con is a kid-friendly event - children under 16 must be accompanied by a guardian
  • CTF tournament tickets are limited to 24 participants on a first-come, first-served basis

2.2 Event Access

  • Valid ticket required for entry
  • Photo ID may be required at check-in
  • Organizers reserve the right to refuse entry or remove attendees who violate our Code of Conduct
  • Lost tickets may be replaced at the discretion of the organizers

3. Event Modifications

Hackers Guild Pittsburgh reserves the right to:

  • Modify the event schedule, speakers, or content without notice
  • Cancel or postpone the event due to circumstances beyond our control
  • Change venue locations if necessary
  • Limit attendance based on venue capacity

4. Attendee Conduct

All attendees must:

  • Comply with our Code of Conduct
  • Respect venue rules and local laws
  • Not engage in any illegal activities including unauthorized network access
  • Follow responsible disclosure practices for any vulnerabilities discovered
  • Respect intellectual property rights of speakers and other attendees

5. Liability & Disclaimers

5.1 Assumption of Risk

You acknowledge that attendance at Guild Con involves certain risks, including but not limited to:

  • Exposure to technical content that may be misused if applied inappropriately
  • Participation in CTF challenges that simulate security scenarios
  • General risks associated with attending public events

5.2 Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hackers Guild Pittsburgh, its organizers, volunteers, and sponsors shall not be liable for:

  • Any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Lost, stolen, or damaged personal property
  • Personal injury except where caused by gross negligence
  • Any losses arising from event cancellation or modification

6. Intellectual Property

  • All content on this website is property of Hackers Guild Pittsburgh unless otherwise noted
  • Speaker presentations remain the intellectual property of the respective speakers
  • You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without permission
  • Guild Con name and logos are trademarks of Hackers Guild Pittsburgh

7. Privacy & Data Use

By registering for Guild Con, you agree to our Privacy Policy and consent to:

  • Collection of registration information for event management
  • Receiving event-related communications
  • Potential photography or recording as outlined in our Photo/Recording Policy

8. Workshop & CTF Specific Terms

8.1 Workshops

  • Workshop tickets are separate from general admission
  • Limited seats available on first-come, first-served basis
  • Required materials or prerequisites will be communicated in advance
  • No recording without explicit permission from instructor

8.2 CTF Tournament

  • Teams will be assigned randomly (3 players per team)
  • Single elimination format
  • All decisions by CTF organizers are final
  • Prizes are non-transferable and non-exchangeable
  • Cheating or unsportsmanlike conduct will result in immediate disqualification

9. Alcohol Policy

Guild Con maintains a responsible alcohol policy:

  • Alcoholic beverages are only for attendees 21 years and older
  • Wristbands will be provided to verified 21+ attendees
  • We do not sell alcohol - beverages are provided as part of the event
  • Valid ID required for wristband and alcohol access
  • No outside alcohol permitted

10. Force Majeure

Hackers Guild Pittsburgh shall not be liable for any failure to perform its obligations due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, pandemic, government restrictions, war, terrorism, or labor disputes.

11. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by the laws of Pennsylvania, United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.

12. Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

13. Entire Agreement

These Terms & Conditions, along with our Code of Conduct, Privacy Policy, and Photo/Recording Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Hackers Guild Pittsburgh regarding Guild Con 2025.
